Delta Air Lines is offering $30,000 each, $2.28 million in total, to the 76 passengers on the plane that flipped over while landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport this week.

On Monday, Flight 4819, operated by Delta subsidiary Endeavor Air, was coming in from Minneapolis when the landing was botched, with the plane ending up upside down.

Four crew were on board along with the passengers, 21 of whom were injured. The plane was removed from the runway by Wednesday night. On Thursday, the last of the injured passengers was released from the hospital, Delta said on its website.

The passengers have been offered the $30,000 with “no strings attached,” and the gesture doesn’t affect any passenger rights, the Delta Care Team told Minnesota’s WCCO-TV on Wednesday.

“The Delta and Endeavor families are grateful that all those injured Monday have been released from the hospital. … We will continue to connect one-on-one with customers, employees and loved ones as we move forward to make sure their needs are met with care,” Delta CEO Ed Bastian said in a statement.

At least two Canadian passengers on the plane have retained Canadian law firm Rochon Genova, while some Americans have signed up with American attorneys.

“We’re probably going to start our own investigation to determine if there are any other parties that should be involved in potential litigation moving forward,” Vincent Genova, a founding partner at Rochon Genova, told CityNews Toronto.
