Country singer Jelly Roll was pulled over in a boat on Lake Erie after he headlined Ohio’s Bash on the Bay music festival.

“So we were leaving Bash on the Bay … and we got pulled over by the Coast Guard. It’s crazy. We have the sheriff of the county with us, but it actually turned out to be okay, so we’re back on our way,” the singer, whose real name is Jason DeFord, posted on his Instagram story Wednesday, according to Fox News.

The boat was stopped because Mr. DeFord’s boat was making a wake, a disturbance in the water created when a boat moves at higher speeds, in a no-wake zone, the Coast Guard told Cleveland Fox affiliate WJW-TV.

No violations were assessed, and the Coast Guard let the boat sail along shortly after it was stopped.

The Coast Guard also performed a random, routine safety inspection.

“They do safety boardings, to ensure that the proper documentation and equipment is present. They boarded, and checked, and all proper documentation and all proper safety equipment was present and they allowed the vessel to proceed,” Ottawa County Sheriff Stephen Levorchick, who was on the boat with Mr. DeFord, told the local Port Clinton News Herald.
