Time magazine has changed the cover photo for its Aug. 5 issue, and conservatives are angry. Time posted the cover for its Aug. 5 edition on X Thursday, featuring a photo showing the aftermath of the rally where former President Donald Trump narrowly survived an assassination attempt.
The decision confused conservative users on X, where Time had already posted the Aug. 5 cover photo on July 14. That cover featured the widely circulated shot of Mr. Trump carried away at the fateful rally with his fist raised and blood on his face.
Time couldn’t be reached for comment on the change.
Conservatives weren’t entirely satisfied with the original cover, which ran with the tagline “former president survives shooting with nation on edge.” Some readers thought the caption should have used the word assassination.
