Coca-Cola Spiced is in the trash bin after the beverage giant first offered it in February.

Due to a lack of consumer response, Coke is turning to another flavor next year.

“We’re always looking at what our customers like and adjusting our range of products. As part of this strategy, we’re planning to phase out Coca-Cola Spiced to introduce an exciting new flavor in 2025,” a Coca-Cola spokesperson told CBS MoneyWatch Tuesday.

Coca-Cola Spiced, intended to become a permanent offering, was thought up and developed in just seven weeks.

“The mindset is that we’re a 137-year-old startup focused on bolder, faster … innovations that delight consumers and create growth for the company,” Coca-Cola North America Chief of Marketing Shakir Moin said in a release this year.

Despite the flavor’s name, the drink isn’t spicy. Beverage Digest Editor Duane Stanford told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution the soda was “something akin to a Dr Pepper.”

Mr. Stanford added, “This is pretty quick to pull a product like that. … I think they’re perfectly willing to, you know, make some bets … in order to hit upon the one at some point that will give them years of growth.”
