Charlamagne tha God rips Dems after Hunter Biden pardon: ‘Stop acting like y’all are the pure party’

Charlamagne tha God isn’t buying the White House spin.
The popular radio host blasted President Biden’s sweeping pardon of son Hunter Biden on numerous grounds, saying it proved Democrats are no better than Republicans.
“I just want Democrats to stop acting like they are on this moral high ground politically, when they have shown us they’re not,” he said on Monday’s edition of “The Breakfast Club.”
He said the pardon fit a pattern of Democrats skirting legal processes and rigging the game.
“You know, whether it’s skipping the primary process when Biden stepped down to things like Biden pardoning his son. Stop acting like y’all are the pure party and Republicans aren’t,” Charlamagne said.
In his statement Sunday evening Mr. Biden said the prosecution of his son by his own Justice Department was selective political retaliation.
Charlamagne didn’t buy that either.
“Hunter was singled out because he broke the law. That’s number one. He was singled out because he had his illegal gun and tax evasion charges, not because he was the president’s son,” he said with a touch of scorn in his voice, according to the video clip posted by the Daily Mail.
There was a broader point too, Charlamagne added.
“It also shows me elected officials can do whatever they want as long as they have the political will and courage to do it,” he concluded.
Hunter Biden has been convicted on two sets of federal charges — one in Delaware surrounding an illegal gun purchase and a separate case in California accusing him of tax evasion.
He theoretically faced decades in prison (25 years in Delaware; 17 in California) when sentenced later this month, though he likely would have served far less than that because he was a first offender.
Now, he won’t spend a day in prison in those two cases — or any other federal charges. The president’s sweeping pardon absolves Hunter Biden of any federal crimes dating back to 2014, which the Daily Mail and other news outlets noted was the exact year Hunter Biden joined the board of Ukrainian energy firm Burisma.
