The Pacific Palisades fire has engulfed at least 2,920 acres in Los Angeles County, requiring thousands to evacuate, including several celebrities who live in the area.

As of Wednesday, the fire, which started Tuesday, had caused several injuries to civilians and firefighters with no reported deaths. An area bordered in the south by California State Route 1, in the east by Kenter Road and in the north by Mulholland Drive has been evacuated, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

About 30,000 people live in that area, with 13,000 structures and buildings located in the zone, according to The Associated Press.

One of the evacuees is “Star Wars” legend Mark Hamill, who wrote on Instagram that he fled Malibu at around 7 p.m. Tuesday. He called the blaze “the most horrific fire since ’93.”

Actor James Woods wrote on X Tuesday morning that he was evacuating, posting multiple videos and writing later that “we were able to evacuate successfully.”

Mr. Woods also excoriated LAFD Chief Kristin Crowley on the social media platform: “Refilling the water reservoirs would have been a welcome priority, too, but I guess she had too much on her plate promoting diversity.”

Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar also criticized city leadership, including Mayor Karen Bass, who was out of the country. Ms. Gellar posted, “City of LA you want everyone to evacuate yet you have complete gridlock and not one traffic cop on the roads helping @cityoflosangeles @karenbassla,” according to the Daily Mail.

Actor Ben Affleck also evacuated a home he owns in the area and headed to the residence of ex Jennifer Garner, with whom he shares three children, according to TMZ.

Actress Jennifer Love Hewitt posted a photo on Instagram taken from a car showing the fire, writing “I have no words. Only prayers and holding as much hope as I can for our home and our kids while we watch everything burn. Thank you to every first responder fighting so hard for all of us.”

“Police Academy” actor Steve Guttenberg, a Palisades resident, helped out with evacuation efforts on the ground, asking residents not to abandon their cars without leaving keys inside so that they could be moved out of the way of fire trucks.

“What’s happening is people take their keys with them as if they’re in a parking lot. This is not a parking lot. We really need people to move their cars. If you leave your car behind, leave the key in there so a guy like me can move your car so that these fire trucks can get up there,” Mr. Guttenberg told KTLA.
