A car went through a wall on the second story of the parking garage for the Whole Foods location in Tenleytown in D.C. Thursday. No one was injured but there was significant cosmetic damage.
The crash involved a white SUV and necessitated a technical rescue, D.C. Fire and EMS posted on X at 9:02 a.m. Thursday.
The driver of the car told responding Metropolitan Police Department officers that she tried to park but instead accelerated into and through the concrete wall. Police determined there was no criminal intent behind the incident, according to a police report cited by ABC affiliate WJLA-TV.
The police did not name the driver.
Despite the cosmetic damage, there were no structural issues caused by the car going through the wall. Pictures posted by D.C. fire officials show the front of the car and two wheels hanging freely off the side of the parking garage, and cinderblocks, bricks and metal strewn about on the ground below.
