A man suspected of breaking into a Toyota dealership in Hollywood led police on a chase to a nearby Lamborghini dealership in a vehicle police say the man stole.

The Los Angeles Police Department responded to the Toyota dealership on Hollywood Boulevard at about 11:20 p.m. after receiving reports of a break-in. Officers saw a man inside the dealership, and instructed him to leave and to stop looking through keys, police told KABC-TV.

Instead, the suspect took a set of keys, hopped into a white Toyota sedan, rammed a couple of fences and barriers, and drove off, police said.

Video posted to YouTube by OnScene.TV shows the break-out and the beginning of the chase, as well as its conclusion. A helicopter can be heard overhead as the suspect gets the car turned around before ramming through a chain-link fence and a stronger barrier leading onto the street.

After a series of police cars are depicted zooming off after the Toyota sedan, the damaged car can be seen, stopped next to an Adidas-branded storefront, as police are heard asking through a megaphone that the suspect exit the vehicle.

Instead, the car starts up again, the front left wheel missing a tire, and the chase resumes at a slower pace. At the Lamborghini dealership, the suspect can be seen holding his hands up before putting them down, pacing around and smashing a glass door with a rock. He was subsequently restrained.

Attempts during the chase to stop the car with a spike strip and a PIT maneuver were unsuccessful, the Los Angeles police told KABC-TV.

The Beverly Hills Police Department also responded to the incident and reported in an alert on Nixle that the situation had been resolved as of 2:09 a.m. Beverly Hills police officers used a Taser to subdue the suspect, according to KCAL-TV.

The 22-year-old suspect, whose name police didn’t release, was arrested and taken into custody.
