A brush fire started Monday on the 3400 block of 14th Street NE in the District of Columbia, fanned by strong gusts.
The fire broke out in a wooded area just after 3:20 p.m., prompting a response from three fire engines, D.C. Fire and EMS wrote on X.
No one was reported injured and no buildings were threatened by the blaze, firefighters wrote.
By 4:06 p.m., the fire had been extinguished, D.C. firefighters said in a second post. Personnel stayed at the scene to see if any smoldering areas remained that could reignite the fire.
Officials didn’t say what sparked the fire.
The wooded area where the fire broke out is in Fort Bunker Hill Park, first responders told Washington’s WJLA-TV. Though little remains of the Civil War fortification, the site is still managed by the National Park Service.
