Police in Escambia County, Florida, said a man shot and killed his sister’s ex-boyfriend after the assailant broke into the woman’s home and assaulted her.
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office said the 26-year-old ex-boyfriend busted down the door of the 47-year-old woman’s trailer Tuesday to confront his former lover.
Authorities said the ex-boyfriend “hit the female several times.”
The woman eventually texted for help, and her 23-year-old brother and others came to her aid.
Police said the brother and the ex-boyfriend got into an argument, and the ex-boyfriend cocked a gun and aimed it at the brother. The brother, who also was armed, responded by firing two shots, which mortally wounded the ex-boyfriend.
Authorities said no charges have been filed at this point. The incident is under investigation.
