President Biden will meet Monday afternoon with his national security team in the Situation Room, as top officials warn that an Iranian attack on Israel could be imminent.

Vice President Kamala Harris will join him in the meeting even as she ponders the selection of her running mate and prepares for a cross-country campaign trip.

The meeting comes as top administration officials warn that an Israeli attack on Israel could come as soon as Monday.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken warned his Group of Seven counterparts over the weekend that Iran and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah could soon carry out a coordinated attack on Israel, according to a report.

During the Sunday conference call with U.S. allies, Mr. Blinken vowed to pressure Iran and Hezbollah to minimize their retaliation and avoid an all-out regional war, according to a report in Axios.

Iran and Hezbollah have pledged to retaliate against Israel following the killing of top leaders and the Palestinian militant group Hamas and Hezbollah last week. Mr. Blinken reportedly said they expect an attack in the next 24 to 48 hours.

Also Sunday, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin spoke with his Israeli counterpart to emphasize U.S. support for the Jewish state as fears of a wider regional war escalate.

Tensions in the region have been inflamed since Hamas launched a massive attack on Israel in October. Hezbollah last week launched a rocket attack in Israel, killing 12 children and teenagers.

In response, Israel killed a senior Hezbollah commander and a top Hamas political leader in Iran.
