President Biden denied Wednesday that he met with Hunter Biden’s overseas business partners as the first son and Republican lawmakers continue their standoff over his congressional testimony.

“It’s a bunch of lies. I did not. And it’s a bunch of lies,” Mr. Biden told reporters Wednesday of allegations he interacted with Hunter’s associates in China and Ukraine. “They’re lies.”

House Republicans have alleged that Hunter Biden used his dad’s name as part of an overseas influence-peddling scheme in which the younger Biden raked in millions of dollars.

Hunter Biden has denied wrongdoing and has asked Republicans on the House Oversight and Accountability Committee if he can testify at a public hearing on Dec. 13.

Committee Chairman James Comer, Kentucky Republican, has rejected the offer, fearing grandstanding by Democratic lawmakers. He has pushed for a closed-door meeting.

Devon Archer, a former business partner of Hunter Biden, testified before Congress in August that Joe Biden spoke with his son’s business partners numerous times.
