An AmeriGas Propane building in Independence Township, Pennsylvania, burned down Friday after two propane tanks exploded in a garage at around 3:40 p.m.

No injuries were reported from the explosion, Independence Township Fire and EMS posted on Facebook. The department also posted a video of the scene when the fire truck arrived, showing the fire raging.

The building hosting the garage was gutted. No one was inside at the time of the blast.

“The only thing standing is the four walls. Everything in there is a complete loss,” Independence Township Fire Chief Jeri New told WTAE-TV.

Larger tanks elsewhere in the facility were unaffected and were shut off.

“That was our sole fear, was to get to the back of those other tanks. These guys did a great knock down, the ones that were first on scene. I couldn’t ask for a better turn out,” Chief New told KDKA-TV.

In a statement, AmeriGas Propane told WPXI-TV, “We have been notified of the situation and AmeriGas personnel is on the scene. We will begin the investigation as soon as possible.”

Work continues to find out how and why the two propane tanks exploded.
