Twenty guests will join first lady Jill Biden to watch President Biden’s State of the Union address from her viewing box in the House chamber Thursday night, including a slew of liberal advocates pushing for increased access to abortion, gun control and increased student debt relief.

The guest list underscores Mr. Biden’s efforts to draw a contrast with former President Donald Trump as they face a rematch in November. Most polls show Mr. Biden trailing his predecessor.

Guests include an Alabama woman whose in vitro fertilization treatments were stopped after the state’s high court ruled that embryos are children, a woman who was denied an abortion in Texas and gun control advocate Jazmin Cazares, whose sister died in the 2022 elementary school shooting in Uvalde, Texas.

Also on the list are United Auto Workers President Shawn Fain and members of other labor unions, including a Milwaukee plumber who replaces lead pipes.

Other guests include a Minnesota man whose student debt was eliminated by Mr. Biden’s policies, singer/civil rights activist Bette Mae Fikes and the founder of a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness on the opioid crisis.

Television journalist Maria Shriver will attend to highlight her efforts to improve women’s health, including combating Alzheimer’s disease.

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson will attend ahead of his nation formally joining NATO this month.

Ms. Biden had invited Ukrainian first lady Olena Zelenska and Yulia Navalnaya, the widow of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, but they declined to attend.

Also set to attend the address are two New York City police officers who were attacked by migrants in Times Square. The officers were invited by Reps. Anthony D’Esposito and Nicole Malliotakis, both New York Republicans.
