NextImg:$5 beer, $3.50 hot dogs: Ravens drop concession prices ahead of NFL season

It’ll be a bit cheaper to feed a family of football fans at Baltimore Ravens games this fall. The NFL franchise announced Flock Friendly prices on Tuesday as they dropped the price for several items like water, hot dogs, nachos and soda at M&T Bank Stadium.

The Ravens first introduced the value pricing initiative in 2018, but will expand it for the upcoming season. Eleven items will now be available for less than $5, including hot dogs for $3.50.

“We regularly evaluate fan feedback to enhance the M&T Bank Stadium gameday experience and ensure it reflects what our fans value most,” Chris Inouye, the Ravens’ vice president of retail and food & beverage operations, said in a release. “The newly expanded Flock Friendly Fare menu was designed with affordability in mind, featuring high-quality fan favorites alongside several exciting new additions.”

As part of the changes, fans will be able to grab a 12-ounce beer for $5, a $2 drop from last year.

The Ravens are the latest team to drop prices after years of fan complaints. MLB’s Baltimore Orioles introduced a similar program this season with a dozen items costing $5 or less, including a soda with free refills.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons, has driven the push for lower prices since it opened in 2017. The venue has received widespread acclaim for its $2 hot dogs, $3 nachos and $2 sodas.

“All the reasons why we did it were validated,” Gordon Barfield, the vice president of strategy and corporate development for the Falcons’ parent company, told Sportico in 2021. “Fans have responded both with their wallets and how they value us as an organization. … It has definitely met our expectations, if not exceeded them.”

The Ravens open the season on the road Sunday night against the Buffalo Bills. They’ll return to Baltimore for a home opener on Sept. 14 against the Cleveland Browns.
