Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) blasted first lady Jill Biden's claim that President Joe Biden is "America's education president" on Wednesday as delusional.
"Well, I hate to say that I think she may be the only person who believes that," Youngkin told Fox News. "I think the vast majority of Americans believe that Joe Biden has so undersupported and underprepared our kids for what we're dealing with."

"Schools were closed for an extended period of time because Joe Biden thought schools should be closed unnecessarily, and, now, we're seeing a learning loss across the nation that is unprecedented."
Decades of progress have been lost due to the actions of the president, and, in Virginia, fourth graders had the largest measured learning loss in math and English, according to Youngkin.
"We are working hard to close that gap," he said. "It is a huge effort. We need more teachers. We need more specialized help. We have micro grants now for Virginia's kids. We are working hard to reestablish excellence and expectations and give kids the kind of support they need."
"It hadn't come from Joe Biden," he added. "The vast majority of Americans understand he hasn't been the 'education president' but counter."

The president has bent so much to the will of the teachers unions that he has allowed the unions to forget who children belong to, Youngkin said.
"The kids belong to parents," he said. "Not to the state, not to politicians. They belong to parents."
