The View hosts just can’t understand conservatives’ concern over the Barbie movie.
“It’s a movie! It’s a movie about a doll!” co-host Whoopi Goldberg blasted. “I thought ya’ll would be happy. She has no genitalia so there’s no sex involved. Ken has no genitalia so he can’t be doing — it’s a doll movie.”

Conservative commentators have shared concerns over the Greta Gerwig film’s emphasis on ultra-feminism that may, in fact, undermine women, and its inclusion of the “nine-dash line,” which is often viewed as catering to China’s contested ownership of the South China Sea and as an attempt by Hollywood to ensure the film is shown in Chinese theaters.
Goldberg said conservative parents should have to explain to their daughters what is underneath the opposition.
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin questioned if “there’s not something more important going on in the world to get super passionate about.”
“It shows how the ‘right-wing influencers’ are actually out of touch with actual Republicans,” Griffin added.
“The whole point was to make you pause and think and say, ‘Wow, this is like the opposite of what we live in,’" co-host Sara Haines also said, commenting on a line by the character of Ken that suggests he gets in touch with his feminine side by going to a construction site.

The View hosts also celebrated the film’s opening weekend box office success, noting it was the largest opening ever for a female director.
In its first four days in theaters, Barbie has grossed nearly $190 million.
