The View's Whoopi Goldberg said House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) needs to "grow a pair" after he seemingly backtracked Tuesday on former President Donald Trump's ability to win the presidency again.
"I just want him to grow a pair of cojones that will give him some way to actually not waffle,” she told her co-hosts.
Sunny Hostin then explained that "he can’t because of the deal that he made to become speaker."
According to her, "he gave away his cojones and kicked them under the table. He doesn’t have them anymore."
Joy Behar chimed in, saying, "He sold his soul."
In a Tuesday interview, McCarthy said, "Can he win that election?" about the 2024 presidential race. "Yeah, he can. … The question is, is he the strongest to win the election? I don't know that answer. But can anybody beat Biden? Yeah, anybody can beat Biden. Can Biden beat other people? Yes, Biden can beat them. It's on any given day."
Headlines quickly emerged, pointing out McCarthy's hesitance to name Trump the strongest Republican primary candidate.

By Tuesday night, he told Breitbart News that Trump is actually “stronger today than he was in 2016.”
“As usual, the media is attempting to drive a wedge between President Trump and House Republicans as our committees are holding Biden’s DOJ accountable for their two-tiered levels of justice,” he added.
