NextImg:White MSNBC hosts should offer their jobs to Joy Reid - Washington Examiner

Diversity is the country’s biggest strength. Diversity is what makes the country great. Diversity makes us stronger.

Left-wing political talk show hosts often parrot these statements. It’s a contemporary dogma at the epicenter of the Left’s ideological beliefs and political agendas. It fuels their race-based obsessions. As loyalists to their cause, liberal Democrats, particularly affluent, white liberal Democrats, emphasize the importance of diversity and regularly explain why it is needed. This is usually followed by a cult-like devotion to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion policies and programs.

They advocate the hiring of non-white and non-Asian people for economic and academic opportunities throughout the country, often at the expense of white people. They routinely call for a great cultural revolution and societal restructuring. They complain about jobs, academia, award shows, and various other cultural elements as being “too white.”

That is, unless it involves their own jobs.

Look no further than MSNBC talk show host Rachel Maddow’s meltdown Tuesday night regarding the network canceling the show of Joy Reid, a miserable, deceitful, dishonest, and manipulative commentator with absurdly poor ratings. Maddow went so far as to insinuate that MSNBC was racist for canceling a show that was among the network’s least-watched. It was another example of how race is the only thing that matters to left-wingers like Maddow. Performance doesn’t matter, only skin color.

“In all of the jobs I have had in all of the years I have been alive there is no colleague for whom I have had more affection and more respect than Joy Reid,” Maddow said. “I love everything about her. I have so much more to learn from her. I do not want to lose her as a colleague here at MSNBC, and personally, I think it is a bad mistake to let her walk out the door. It is not my call, and I understand that, but that’s what I think.”

Another white MSNBC host, Chris Hayes echoed similar sentiments.

“It was a really devastating blow that Joy Reid’s show ended last night and that she’s leaving MSNBC altogether,” said Hayes. “I really am going to miss her enormously,” Hayes said. “I’m also completely, absolutely confident she’s going to continue to be a central voice in American politics at this critical time, particularly at a time when media is expanding in all sorts of amazing ways, and people are doing all kinds of new things.”

However, if Maddow and Hayes are so dismayed, I propose a simple solution: they should give Reid their job. Likewise with every other white host on MSNBC who championed diversity in recent years and was critical of Reid’s show being canceled. It would align with all the calls for diversity that they all preached for years. What better way to show a commitment to a political cause than to do the very thing left-wingers have been asking everyone else to do for years now? If diversity makes us stronger, then let Rachel Maddow, or any white liberal talking head at MSNBC, show the country their immense strength and offer their job to Joy Reid.

But Maddow won’t do this, of course, and neither will Hayes or any of their white colleagues. These people have no problem calling for other white people to lose their jobs under the guise and deception of diversity, having done so for years. They only care about diversity causes and initiatives when they are protected from its consequences and ramifications.

They do not want to practice what they preach. They want to preach and others to practice it.
