The Biden White House is the most diverse in history, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Thursday, with a majority-minority Cabinet and a majority of senior staff who "identify as female."

Jean-Pierre was asked by a reporter if President Joe Biden is considering diversity in the naming of a new Federal Reserve vice chairperson. The questions prompted the press secretary to tout the administration's diversity.

BIDEN ADMINISTRATION ACCUSED OF CREATING 'GAG POLICY' FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

"The Cabinet is majority people of color for the first time in its history," she said. "The Cabinet is majority female for the first time in history. A majority of White House senior staff identify as female, 40% of White House senior staff identify as part of racially diverse communities, and a record seven assistants to the president are openly LGBTQ+."

Biden is reshuffling his economic team ahead of a potential reelection announcement and facing the tall task of convincing voters his economic agenda is working even as inflation remains historically elevated.

Diversity will be front and center of the choices made as he assembles the team, Jean-Pierre stressed.

"When it comes to diversity, you’ve heard this from the president. You’ve heard this from me. You’ve heard this from many of us here," she said. "Diversity and representation is really important to this president, and the president is going to look at a highly diverse group of world-class economists."
