Cocaine dominated the conversation at Wednesday's White House press briefing.

Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre mostly pointed to the Secret Service but did provide some updates to the investigation, including that tours took place on the campus over the weekend.

HOW THE SUPREME COURT COULD NEXT REIN IN THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION

"When it comes to visitors to the West Wing, they come for many reasons, and obviously we do have West Wing tours that occur here on campus," Jean-Pierre said. "They happen, and this particular past couple of days, they happened on Friday, they happened on Saturday, and on Sunday."

The cocaine was discovered on Sunday evening. Jean-Pierre also confirmed that White House staffers are tested for drugs before taking their positions and said the illicit drug was found in a well-trafficked area.

Initial reports were that the substance was found in a White House library, but those have been conflicted by later stories saying it was found in the West Wing, where Jean-Pierre and other staffers and sometimes tourists have access. Jean-Pierre refused to provide any specifics as to where that area was and otherwise stressed that the Secret Service was fully in control, saying at one point that "we are not involved in this."

Much of the online chatter has focused on President Joe Biden's son, Hunter, who has a long history of drug use. While no reporters asked directly about Hunter Biden, Jean-Pierre made clear that she would not answer to much in the way of specifics. Hunter Biden was in the White House on Friday before departing for Camp David.

"We're going to get to the bottom of it, to exactly what happened. The Secret Service will, not us," she said. "We're not assisting in anything. This is under the Secret Service's purview."
