The White House is working hard to get Democrats to vote for the debt ceiling deal.

Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked how many congressional Democrats President Joe Biden had spoken to and outlined some of the administration's outreach efforts.

BIDEN WORKS TO PUSH DEBT CEILING DEAL OVER THE FINISH LINE

"The outreach that we're seeing from him and his team includes more than 120 calls, one-on-one calls, with members of Congress," Jean-Pierre said. "That includes calls to all House Democratic leadership, all committee ranking members, all tri-caucus and ideological caucus chairs, and all appropriation leaders."

The White House has also held eight briefings for the entire Democratic House caucus, she added, and offered to brief smaller caucuses individually.

Progressive Caucus leader Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) made waves by denouncing the debt ceiling deal, and members on the Right have spoken out against it as well.

Still, Jean-Pierre expressed optimism that the deal will get done ahead of the June 5 deadline.

"We have been fully engaged throughout these last couple of days, and we’ll continue to do so," Jean-Pierre said.
