


Restaurants and bars across Washington are gearing up to host watch parties for the presidential debate between Democrat Joe Biden and Republican Donald Trump.
Thursday’s CNN debate features a rematch between the same candidates from the 2020 election.
Unlike the previous debates, when most viewers stayed home due to COVID-19, this time, anyone interested can gather at bars or restaurants to watch it. It will air on CNN at 9 p.m.
This Adams Morgan taquería will host walk-in bar guests from 7-11:30 p.m., offering $10 drink specials and serving its signature Mexican dishes.
Featured for the night are three themed drinks: the Filibuster Buzz, the Bipartisan Breeze, and the Swing State Sangria.
It is located at 2333 18th St. NW.
The pub will feature $6 Red and Blue drinks all night, with the one receiving the most orders being declared the “winner” of the watch party.
Additionally, it will offer $4 shots and $4-$6 pints, along with other specials such as a $4 presidential pilsner pint and a $16 pitcher companion.
The watch party starts at 9 p.m. with seating on a first-come, first-served basis, and no ticket or RSVP is necessary.

All of its locations will broadcast the debate and offer drink specials.
In collaboration with Make All Votes Count DC, the event will also feature a celebration for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange’s release from prison.
At its Mount Vernon Square location, there will be a post-debate discussion featuring former Ohio state Sen. Nina Turner, a Democrat.
Busboys will offer three $7 themed drink specials: Singing the Blues, Seeing Red, and Shake it Up. The idea is that people will choose one of these depending on their mood during the debate.
The watch party starts at 9 p.m. with no ticket needed, but spots can be reserved for free.
Shaw’s will offer half-price bottles of wine all night.
Seating starts at 7:30 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis, but tables can be reserved in advance.

Sudhouse is hosting an all-night happy hour featuring $4 beers and $6 mixed drinks.

Network for Progress and Virginia Blue Victory will host their Blue Drinks Presidential Debate Watch Party on the restaurant’s first floor.
The event is free with registration before 7 p.m. Thursday, which is also when the party starts.

Starting at 9 p.m., Midlands will host a debate watch party, featuring $5 beers all night.
It is located at 3333 Georgia Ave. NW.
Red Derby’s watch party will feature $3 beers, $3.50 shots of house tequila or whiskey, and half-price grilled cheese sandwiches.
It is located at 3718 14th St. NW.
Side Door Pizza will offer a special “Pie Divided” pizza for the occasion.

This offer will only be available in a large size, with each half of the pizza featuring a presidential candidate theme: “Orange Cheeseburger” features New York chopped-cheese-style beef, orange cheddar, and dill pickles, while “Sleepy Joe” is topped with blue crab dip.
