NextImg:Where are the liberal media 'fact checks' on Imane Khelif now?

During the 2024 Olympics, liberal media “fact checks” had a lot to say about Algerian boxer Imane Khelif’s gender. Now that Khelif is refusing genetic sex testing while still trying to box women, where are those fact-checkers?

World Boxing introduced mandatory genetic testing for female boxers in May. Khelif is trying to get that testing requirement thrown out, appealing it to the Court of Arbitration for Sport so that the athlete can compete in the World Boxing Championships against women in September without undergoing genetic testing.

OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST IMANE KHELIF SIDELINED BY WORLD BOXING PENDING GENETIC SEX TEST

You may recall Khelif as being one of two women’s boxers competing at the 2024 Olympics who had previously been banned by the International Boxing Association for failing genetic tests. The Olympics allowed them to compete because their passports listed them as female, and the two proceeded to beat every woman in their path.

At the time, people pointed out Khelif’s failed IBA sex tests, but liberal media quickly declared the IBA to be a Russian propaganda organization. The Washington Post “fact checker” Glenn Kessler claimed that this was a “prominently debunked claim” initially “pushed by dubious Russian entities” and that “the questions surrounding Khelif’s sex at birth … were settled.” (Emphasis added). CNN‘s Daniel Dale called it a “lie” to claim that Khelif was a male who had “transitioned” and that the IBA, with its “extensive ties to the Russian government,” had “never substantiated” its claims.

So here’s a question now: If Imane Khelif truly is a female boxer, why not simply affirm that through a genetic test and move on with life? Why is Khelif so desperately committed to avoiding a noninvasive genetic test that every other female boxer will undergo with no problems?

WHAT IS DSD? SEX GENETICS AND OLYMPIC BOXING CONTROVERSY

The most likely answer is probably the correct one. The IBA could only release Khelif’s genetic test results if Khelif requested it or if a court ordered it (which is why it couldn’t “substantiate” that claim, Daniel Dale). Khelif refrained from suing the IBA for eligibility, which would lead to the public release of those records, and hasn’t requested that the IBA release those results to show the world the truth. Now, Khelif is fighting against every opportunity to offer proof of being a woman. Why would Khelif be doing all this if there wasn’t something to hide?

The claim that Khelif is a woman lies only with Khelif’s passport and the word of the corrupt International Olympic Committee. Khelif could have easily proved being a woman multiple times over by now, but the athlete instead fights against any effort to secure a genetic, public answer to that question. Khelif’s attempts to circumvent World Boxing’s test indicate exactly where those test results would lead, so where are those liberal “fact checkers” who anointed themselves as the final arbiters of truth now?
