Tilda Swinton revealed she would not follow the COVID-19 protocols on her new film's set, citing her good health.

"I'm not wearing a mask," the actress told the audience during Monday's keynote at South by Southwest.

"I'm super healthy, and I've had COVID so many times, and I'm so full of antibodies," Swinton explained.

Swinton explained she is going to begin filming the new project in Ireland soon and that "I was told ... to wear a mask at all times."

According to her, "I have faith" in her health and ability to withstand being exposed to possible sickness.

She also described being fearful during the pandemic that the days of large crowds and gatherings, particularly for viewing movies and other art forms, were going to become a thing of the past.

Her fears were quelled, however. "This magical thing happened," she explained.

"You asked anybody, not just cine-nerds like us, what they really missed during the pandemic, and they said the same things. They said friends, family, live music, cinema. Those were the only things people missed," Swinton told the audience.

The 95th Academy Awards on Sunday boasted a crowd of almost entirely maskless attendees, with the exception of very few. The production also saw its largest television audience since the beginning of the pandemic and government lockdown measures, with early data revealing it had an average of 18.7 million viewers.
