Former Vice President Mike Pence said he will decide whether to enter the 2024 presidential race on his terms.

Pence told Hannity on Tuesday that “the failed leadership of President Biden” is indicative of “change around the corner” but would only go so far as to say that he is “thinking about” his own 2024 bid for the White House.

When asked whether squaring off against his former partner, former President Donald Trump, would be a factor in his decision, Pence said his 2024 political aspirations would be based on what “he and his family feel called to do.”

“I said early on that the only thing that I decided was that I was not going to let anybody else make the decision for me,” Pence said. “So whether it is the former president or any other candidate, we’ll make a decision based on what I and my family feel called to do in this moment in the life of the nation.”

The former Indiana governor said that people across the United States have expressed a desire for the country to return to several of the policies held under his and Trump’s administration, including parents' rights, fiscal responsibility, and “peace through strength.”

Pence suggested that the war in Ukraine and record-high inflation are indicative of the Biden administration’s weakness.

"The American people know that we need change in this country. They know that there are challenging times ahead at home and abroad. But they also know that whether it's the economy, whether it's the world stage, whether it's a crisis at the border, whether it's crime on the streets of our major cities, these are all the natural consequences of the failed leadership of President Biden," he said. "And I think that's why there's change around the corner."

"We're going to reflect on all of those things. We're going to continue to give it prayerful consideration," Pence added.
