Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) and former President Barack Obama are holding a campaign event in Madison, <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/tag/wisconsin/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="">Wisconsin</a> Tuesday afternoon.


<p>Their visit comes as early voting kicks off in Wisconsin on Tuesday. As of Friday, more than 305,000 absentee ballots had already been returned in the state.</p>

<p>Obama won the state of Wisconsin in both 2008 and 2012. </p>
<p>Dane County, where Madison is located, is one of the Democratic <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/campaigns/state/3124519/republican-support-dwindles-in-wisconsins-historic-gop-strongholds/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="">strongholds</a> of the state. Vice President Kamala Harris held a rally at the same venue last month, which more than 10,000 people attended.</p>
