Former President Donald Trump is scheduled to speak at the Georgia GOP state convention at 12:30 EST on Saturday.
Trump's speech at the convention comes one day after the Department of Justice unsealed an indictment against the former president. The department levied federal charges against the former president over accusations he mishandled classified documents after leaving the White House and thwarted efforts from the government to reclaim them.
In addition to Trump, former Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake will appear at the convention as the event's keynote speaker. Lake is reportedly considering a run for Senate in 2024 after losing the 2022 gubernatorial election in Arizona, though she is also seen by some to be a potential vice presidential candidate to Trump.
