Trump has made liberal use of executive orders, setting a record for the most signed during his first 100 days in office in his second term. In his first 100 days, the president signed 142 executive orders, far surpassing the record of 99 executive orders set by former President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Trump’s use of executive orders has earned criticism from rivals, who consider it tyrannical, and praise from defenders, who consider it decisive action without having to wait for Congress.
