


The Senate Judiciary Committee is holding a hearing on sports name, image, and likeness (NIL) rules.
The hearing is set to begin at 10 a.m. EDT. Among those testifying are Charlie Baker, president of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, Florida gymnast Trinity Thomas, Big Ten Conference Commissioner Tony Petitti, and National College Players Association Executive Director Ramogi Huma.

NIL rights have become a hotbed of controversy in recent years, as the commercialization of college sports continues to grow. The ability of student-athletes to make money off of their NIL has drawn support from a growing number of figures in sports, and the issue has gone all the way up to the Supreme Court.
