


Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) is opening the Moms For Liberty summit on Friday in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, joining an array of conservative presidential hopefuls.
DeSantis, who is considered the biggest challenger to former President Donald Trump for the GOP nomination for president, will be the first of the Republicans to take the stage at the weekendlong summit.

The summit is an annual meeting of the parental rights group, which is based in Florida. The organization stemmed from opposing COVID-19 restrictions, including mask and vaccine mandates at schools.

Candidates including Trump, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, and millionaire entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy are expected to speak throughout the weekend.
