Buttigieg's time as the Transportation secretary has been overshadowed by controversy. He confronted a massive failure from Southwest Airlines over the holiday season, and a catastrophic derailment from a Norfolk Southern train in February that resulted in a dangerous chemical spill.
The hearing is expected to start around 10 a.m. Eastern time.
