The director of the Office of Management and Budget will join the White House press briefing on Tuesday ahead of debt ceiling discussions.
Director Shalanda Young will speak at the briefing with press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre as the House of Representatives prepares to vote on the debt ceiling agreement on Wednesday. The deal is undergoing review by the House Rules Committee after President Joe Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) agreed on a debt ceiling plan on Sunday.

Young is likely to tout the bill's provisions, despite several Republicans from the House Freedom Caucus and other caucuses coming out in opposition to the deal.
About a dozen Republicans from both chambers of Congress have said they will vote "no" on the agreement, meaning McCarthy and Biden will need to lean on Democrats to secure its passage.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen most recently projected that the government has until June 5 before it could start running dry on cash to meet its obligations if no debt limit hike occurs. The original "X-date" was June 1.
The briefing will begin at 2:45 p.m. EDT on Tuesday.
