Watch as Sen. Joe Manchin (I-WV) delivers his final address on the Senate floor at 4:30 p.m.

Manchin was elected to the Senate in 2010 and up until May of this year classified himself as a Democrat. He parted ways from the party due to his belief that it played to partisan extremism rather than working to find common ground with Republicans.

As a centrist, Manchin was a key swing vote in the Senate, and he played a huge role in scaling back the Inflation Reduction Act.

Earlier this year, Manchin entertained the idea of making a presidential run but decided he would not run for any office following his exit from the Democratic Party.
