


The House Freedom Caucus will hold a news conference on government spending on Tuesday.
The news briefing comes after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) announced that the House will open an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.

For some of the House Freedom Caucus members, an impeachment inquiry was one of several demands to secure their vote for a continuing resolution.
House Freedom Caucus members are looking to cut spending to the fiscal 2022 level of $1.47 trillion, which is $200 billion less than what Biden and McCarthy agreed to in the debt ceiling compromise.

They also have called for an end to "blank check" funding to Ukraine and for more funds to be allocated toward border security.
The news conference will begin at 3 p.m. Eastern time on Tuesday.
