


House Democrats are holding a press conference Wednesday morning before the lower chamber leaves for an early summer recess.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), House Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-MA), and House Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar (D-CA) will address members of the media at 10:15 a.m. in Washington, D.C.

The Democratic leaders will likely target Republicans during the news conference for House Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-LA) move to call recess a day early to avoid holding a House vote relating to the Epstein files.
The final House votes before September are now scheduled for Wednesday afternoon as lawmakers look to leave a day early for their five-week August recess.
