The House is set to convene at 3 p.m. EDT but it is unknown if the House will vote to elect a speaker on Wednesday, as the <a class="Link" href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/tag/house-republicans" target="_blank">GOP conference</a> still appears divided in their support of Scalise.

The House GOP conference voted for Scalise over Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) in a closed-door meeting earlier on Wednesday. To elect a speaker, a candidate must receive 217 votes.
