Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth will testify on the Pentagon’s budget before the Senate Committee on Armed Services on Wednesday morning as debate grows over whether the U.S. should escalate military involvement in the conflict between Israel and Iran.
The Senate hearing on the Trump administration’s first proposed defense budget is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Dan Caine will also be present at the hearing, after both men testified on budget matters before the House Appropriations Committee Defense Subcommittee last week.
