Former President Donald Trump is set to give a speech at 1:30 p.m. following his meeting with Republican representatives and senators at the Capitol Hill Club Thursday morning.

Trump met with GOP lawmakers on Capitol Hill for the first time since after the Capitol riots on Jan. 6, 2021.

“We’re excited to welcome President Trump back,” House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said on Wednesday.

Trump, who has been convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records and still faces three more criminal trials, plans to talk about hot-button issues such as mass immigration deportations and tax cuts.
