


Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser is delivering remarks about Inauguration Day security preparations a week out from the presidential swearing-in ceremony.

The press briefing is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. EST. Bowser will be joined by D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela Smith, Capitol Police Chief Thomas Manger, and Secret Service Special Agent in Charge Matt McCool from the Washington Field Office, among others.
President-elect Donald Trump will be sworn into office at noon next Monday from the West Front of the Capitol. The event will be the third major event in the district since the start of the new year, after the joint session of Congress to certify the 2024 election and former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral.
