


Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser is delivering remarks about Inauguration Day security preparations a week out from the official presidential swearing-in ceremony.
The press briefing is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. EST. Bowser, along with D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela Smith, Capitol Police Chief Thomas Manger, and Secret Service Special Agent in Charge Matt McCool from the Washington Field Office, among others.

President-elect Donald Trump will be sworn into office at noon next Monday from the West Front of the Capitol Building. The event will be the third major event in D.C. since the start of the new year, after the joint session of Congress to certify the 2024 election and former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral.
