The Task Force to Study and Develop Reparation Proposals for African Americans in California is holding its final meeting before submitting its final report to the California legislature.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Pacific time, or 12 p.m. Eastern time, from the March Fong Eu Secretary of State Building in Sacramento, California.

At this meeting, the final report and recommendations will be approved and sent to legislatures and Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) for consideration. Several parts of the plan, including the proposal to send reparations payments of up to $1.4 million, are expected to face an uphill battle in the state Assembly and Senate.
