Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) will hold a press conference in his hometown of Hudson County, New Jersey following several calls for him to resign after he was charged on three counts by federal prosecutors last week, alongside his wife, for allegedly accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes.

The senior New Jersey governor stepped down from his high-profile role as chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee following the indictment, which is his second in 10 years.

Several House Democrats have suggested he step down from the Senate and not run for reelection in 2024, along with top Republicans. However, some Democratic members of his own chamber have been hesitant to say whether he should resign.

Menendez has rejected calls to resign, and is expected to say he plans to seek reelection in 2024 on Monday, according to the New Jersey Globe. He is slated to speak at 11:30 a.m. Eastern time.
