President Joe Biden is delivering an address on his proposals for the economy and is expected to contrast his plan to House Republicans' proposals for the economy.

Biden will deliver his remarks at 2:30 p.m. from a union training center in Accokeek, Maryland, as he pushes for an economy that he says will grow "from the middle out and bottom up."

The speech comes days after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) delivered remarks at the New York Stock Exchange, where he called on Biden and Democrats to negotiate with him on spending cuts to get a debt ceiling increase. Biden and McCarthy have only months to negotiate a deal to avoid the country defaulting on its debt obligations.
