President Joe Biden is speaking at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s 47th annual Awards Gala.

He is set to begin speaking at 8:45 p.m.

Biden has receded from the headlines since dropping out of the presidential race on July 21, amid mounting pressure from Democratic leaders concerned about his fitness for another presidential term. He has returned to the campaign trail to vouch for Vice President Kamala Harris, his favored successor.

Hispanics represent a key demographic for Democrats, especially as they have trended more toward Republicans in recent years. Nevertheless, they remain majority Democratic voters.
