President Joe Biden is hosting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Washington, D.C., at the White House. It's the Ukrainian president's second visit since Russia's invasion last year.
Zelensky first made a surprise visit to the United States in December during the battle of Bakhmut, which ultimately ended in a Ukrainian defeat. After meeting with Biden personally, he also spoke to Congress, presenting it with a Ukrainian flag signed by defenders of the city.

Zelensky's second visit to Washington comes at yet another crucial point during the war in Ukraine. Ukrainian forces are struggling to dent Russian defenses in the occupied Zaporizhzhia region. As with last time, he is likely to ask for more and higher-tech weapons to help fight the Russians.
