President Joe Biden will deliver a speech on his plans to protect affordable healthcare and retirement benefits following his accusations that Republicans want to cut Medicare and Social Security.
In the president's address, which he will deliver from Virginia Beach, Virginia, Biden will continue to accuse congressional Republicans of seeking more healthcare cuts that would cause millions of seniors to lose their coverage, according to the president's itinerary.
REPUBLICANS START TO HIT BACK AGAINST BIDEN'S SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE ATTACKS
The president has repeatedly pointed to a plan outlined by Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) that included a provision to sunset all federal legislation, including Social Security, Medicare, and Obamacare, every five years unless Congress renews it.
Republicans have denied they seek to cut these benefit programs, saying Biden is using it to gain support in preparation for his probable 2024 reelection campaign.
However, a bipartisan group of senators, led by Sens. Angus King (I-ME) and Bill Cassidy (R-LA), are considering raising the age of retirement to receive Social Security benefits from 62 to 70 amid worries that the program may become "insolvent."

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has said in the past that, while he wants to decrease spending in negotiations to raise the debt ceiling, he does not endorse cutting Social Security or Medicare.
Biden will begin his speech at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
