The remarks come a day after Biden tried to <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/campaigns/presidential/3029749/biden-looked-reagan-d-day-speech-inspiration/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="">emulate</a> former president and Republican icon Ronald Reagan in his first speech to D-Day veterans.

The president will <a href="https://rollcall.com/factbase/biden/topic/calendar/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="">travel</a> to Paris later in the day after he visits the Normandy American Cemetery Landing Zone.
