Netanyahu’s latest of several addresses to Congress is the most controversial, coming amid the bloodiest war fought by Israel since its founding in 1948. The growing Palestinian death toll has mobilized the progressive wing of the Democratic Party against the older, establishment, and pro-Israel wing. Dozens of Democratic lawmakers are boycotting the address, along with Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY).
Netanyahu’s address comes as the threat of expanding the war grows amid growing clashes with Hezbollah along the northern border, Iran and its proxies, and the Houthis in Yemen.
