Kyle Rittenhouse blasted legacy media and prosecutors' "double standard" in the Daniel Perry shooting case.

Perry, an Army sergeant, was found guilty of murder in the shooting of 28-year-old Garrett Foster, who was actively participating in a Texas 2020 Black Lives Matter protest and approached Perry's vehicle with an AK-47.

"He defended himself," Rittenhouse told Fox News host Tucker Carlson. "He knows what he did was right. You have a man with an AK-47 and over 120 rounds of ammo on his person dressed for war, as some people might say, with the rifle strapped ... the AK-47 raising toward Daniel Perry, who was in flip-flops and beach shorts, carrying a revolver."

The legacy media do not want to portray the truth about Perry, according to Rittenhouse.

"I see a lot of reports just saying he fired indiscriminately into a crowd, and he drove into a bunch of rioters," he said. "They don't want to talk about how he was swarmed, how his car was swarmed with a bunch of rioters trying to attack him."

"You see the double standard in this case," Rittenhouse added. "People aren't talking about the fact that the second person who attacked Daniel Perry, after Sgt. Daniel Perry defended himself against Garrett Foster, he was then shot at three times by a person who was never charged by the Travis County DA."

This person "recklessly" shot at Perry, he said.

"They don't want to talk about the recklessness of that, and they don't want to charge him," Rittenhouse said. "It's a double standard, and it's not OK."

Rittenhouse shot and killed two people during the 2020 riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin, days after the August shooting of Jacob Blake, a black man, by police.

He was found not guilty on all charges in the homicide trial against him on Nov. 19, 2021, and he has maintained that his actions were necessary for self-defense.
